Although Facebook is simple to use for most everyone, it’s not as simple for marketing. There are a lot of reasons your Facebook page isn’t getting the fast follower response you would like. Now that Graph Search is the new search feature, it’s even more important to use your page to engage your fans. There are a few reasons pages can’t get the response they need.
Here are a few mistakes to avoid on your Facebook page:
Inexperienced Managers
To have a successful Facebook page, the manager needs to know how to engage and keep your fans, while encouraging them to share with their friends so you build your fan base. Community managers spend time creating cute e-cards and photos. These funny posts are part of their marketing strategy. They’re deliberate and used to break the ice and make your fan base laugh, think, and engage. Business posts are balanced between the funny posts and timed for the best time the community likes to engage.
Too Much About You & Not Enough About Your Fans
Approximately 80 percent of the content on your pages should be about your fans, promotions that benefit your fans, or contests. Only 20 percent should be about you and your brand. Good community managers know how to nurture and support the community with your brands. Managing content to spread love instead of making your community feel like you’re always selling them something, will keep them coming back.
Don’t be Oblivious to Your Fans
Learn what your fans interests are and what kind of posts they like to share. If any of your fans have blogs or funny posts you can share, then share it with your community. Taking the time to research your community will pay off in the long run. You will get loyal fans and more fans as a result.
Ignoring Questions or Posts
Be sure to respond to questions quickly. Respond to posts as well. Don’t delete negative comments. Try to make the people who post negative comments in some way and try to turn them into your bigger fans. Say thank you to all compliments and see what you can do to return the favor for those fans.
Posting too Much
Don’t flood your fan’s news feeds with too much content. It could make them block you or unlike your page. Facebook can also remove you from rank if you don’t get any engagement and are constantly posting. This could prevent you from showing up in news feeds. One post a day for starts. Once you build a fan base and your engagement starts to increase, you can move to two or three posts a day. Be sure to spread posts out throughout the day.
Not Posting Enough
Be sure not to ignore your Facebook page.
Forget to Tell People
Be sure to tell people by adding the link to your emails, on websites, and brochures. People don’t always search and could potentially find Someone with a similar product if they can’t find you.
