Do you remember the last time you changed something on your social media profile? Ages ago, right? Here is how you can improve your social media presence in just four days.
Day 1: Analyze your current presence
Review all of your social media accounts; make sure you appear professional and everything is up-to-date.
List all your social media accounts in one place, along with usernames and passwords. Be sure that you have set a new password, which is strong enough to prevent hackers. Have a different password for each of these sites.
Develop a to-do list in which you outline all the tasks that need to be done. This can be uploading videos, revising your profile content or updating your contact details.
Go through your profiles and make sure there are no mistakes of any sort.
Day 2: Spend time on Google+ Local
Upload a new cover image for your business; the maximum image size is 2120 x 1192 pixels.
Revise your ‘About’ section; add your tagline or write an introduction in the ‘story’ field.
Thoroughly check that all your posted URLs are working; if this is not so, your SEO may suffer and your business may not appear in local searches.
Check that all your contact details are correct. Google uses this information for Maps, so it must be right.
Day 3: Update your Facebook page
Just as you did with Google+, you should update your Facebook cover photo as well. The image size for this is 851 x 315 pixels, and within this space, the image must truly reflect what your business is about.
Change your profile image, which is 180 x 180 pixels. If you are using your logo, you can skip this part.
Go to ‘Edit Page’, and see if any of your content needs to be changed.
Review the settings of your page such as app access, tagging ability, positing ability and so on. Optimize so that it helps your brand building purposes.
Update your apps, and remove the ones you no longer use.
Day 4: ‘Tweet’ away the hours
From the menu on the left, select the ‘Design’ tab and then scroll down to see the new design options.
Upload your ‘Header’ image. You can scale an image if you like, by zooming in and out and moving the image around. However, if you want to get real fancy and create your own that fits perfectly, make sure the dimension of the image is 1252 x 626.
Upload your ‘Background’ image. You can make it just a plain background focused on your brand colors, or you can include any image here.
Fix up your regular text and link text colors.
Important: Click the ‘Save Changes’ button, otherwise you’ll have to start all over again!
Upload your updated profile (headshot) photo. This is not required all the time, but update it to match the new Header image, to make it blend in a little better.
Click ‘Save Changes’ and then click on the ‘Me’ tab in the top menu to see your new Twitter profile page in all its glory. Change your cover picture and profile photo.
Revise your bio section; within a limit of just 160 characters, it must convey complete information about your business.
Add your location to the profile and include your company’s website.
